Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fine mesh strainer and what is its purpose?

A fine mesh strainer is a cone-shaped strainer made of finely-woven steel mesh. It's very similar to a sieve and works to filter out the smaller particles of a cocktail, like egg whites, seeds, and tiny pieces of herb.

Can a fine mesh strainer be used for both wet and dry ingredients?

It sure can! You can filter your cocktail, but you can also use it for tea, coffee, kombucha, soups, and baking-- It works really well with flour and sugar.

Can a fine mesh strainer remove small particles and impurities from liquids?

Yep! That's its whole purpose: to filter out the smaller particles from your final product, whether it be a cake or a cocktail.

Are fine mesh strainers suitable for straining tea leaves or coffee grounds?

They are! Fine strainers are not just for cocktails; they're a really handy kitchen tools that can be used for a variety of recipes, including tea and coffee.

What materials are fine mesh strainers typically made of?

Usually, fine mesh strainers are made of stainless steel. Ours is made of heavy-duty, food-grade stainless steel 304.

Are fine mesh strainers easy to clean and maintain?

Our fine strainer is dishwasher-safe, making it really easy to clean! We recommend giving the outside of it a little scrub with a dish brush first to loosen up any "gunk," and then you can put it directly in the dishwasher.

Do fine mesh strainers come in different sizes and mesh densities?

There are many types of fine strainers on the market, but you definitely want it to filter out ice and fruit seeds. Ours features a tight mesh that filters out solids while letting your delicious drink come through. We also offer two sizes to meet your cocktail & culinary needs.

Are fine mesh strainers dishwasher safe?

Yes, ours are! We find the simplest way to clean the tightly-woven mesh is to use the dishwasher after a light brushing. Just allow it to dry after and then store in a cool, dry place.

A very good strainer

The larger cone is exactly what I was looking for and the conical shape makes straining much easier. This was precisely what I was looking for. The handle feels more durable than other strainer.
